Supporting our Community
Boathouse Events understands the importance of supporting the community. As a free community event the Gallagher Great Race provides the community with an opportunity to have a free day out.
The team at Boathouse extends this community spirit by also supporting a number of charities, groups, clubs and individuals.
Official Charities
- 2010 Parent to Parent - 100% of the Fun Run & Walk
- 2009 Waikato Hospice - 100% of the Fun Run & Walk
- 2008 Waikato Hospice - 100% of the Fun Run & Walk
- 2007 KidsCan silent auction at the King St Great Race Ball
Clubs
Donation made to clubs who supply a group of people for general event staff duties. If your club or group is interested in becoming involved in the Gallagher Great Race click here.
- Donation made to clubs who supply a group of people for general event staff duties
- Donation to the club coordinating the Million Meter Row
- Donations to Waikato Rowing Club, Hamilton Hawks Club, Celebrating Age Society, Hamilton Club, Waikato Sport Fishing Club for facility hire
- Hamilton Rowing Club through the Corporate Rowing event; they are able to charge groups for row coaching and the mini regatta
Individuals Supported
- $500 to Shaun Kirkham to compete at the 2009 Junior World Champs in France.
- $1,600 to the NZ Universities, for two athletes to compete at the 2008 World Uni Games; Daniel Murtagh and Sarah Alexander.
- $6,000 to the NZ Universities Four who competed at the 2007 World Uni Games; Mark Troup-Paul, Scott Lisington, Daniel Murtagh and Liam O'Halleron.
