Rowing NZ on a high

NZ rowing has been going through a growth phase since the 2004 Olympics and is now reaping the benefits with some solid performances from 2005 World Singles Champion Mahe Drsydale. Drsydale competed recently at the first of two world cup regattas in Europe in the build-up to the world championships in August and also the Henley Royal Regatta, England of which he took out the singles titles in both regattas.

The World Champion pairing of Nicky Coles and Juliette Haigh are yet to recapture their winning form from last year but have been posting some good results in training leading up to the World Championships in August.

Evers-Swindells sisters, Georgina and Caroline, winners of the Bryan Gould Trophy at last years Great Race have also been in top form taking out the doubles title against some strong European competition at the 1st world cup regatta. They are based in Lucerne with the rest of the NZ team preparing for the next defence of their world title which they have held since 2003.
