Ticket sales row to new record
Dust off your mask, ball gown and dancing shoes; the annual King St Great Race Ball is coming to town!Tickets went on sale Monday 2nd July and have already surpassed record sales that saw the 2006 ball sell out four weeks prior to the ball and a waiting list of two hundred people. In the first 10 days one-third of the 1,800 tickets are gone!
"We thought last year's sales were fantastic, but this first week of sales has just blown us away," says Boathouse Events Director Mark Ingle. "Considering the advertising is not due to start until July 15th, we are really please with how word has obviously got out there about tickets being available."
Held at the WEL Energy Trust Academy of Performing Arts, on the University of Waikato Campus, the King St Great Race Ball will be the celebration after the Gallagher Great Race, on Saturday September 8th, 2007.
"This year's ball is going to be an elegant affair," says Ingle.
"Seven exquisitely decorated and themed entertainment areas make this the only annual ball of its kind in New Zealand," he says. "Ticket sales outside of the Waikato keep increasing also, showing how popular the ball is for out-of-towners too."
Ball goers will be entertained with over six hours of simultaneous entertainment choices, 15 live performances and over 80 live performers. Complimentary premium beer and Montana Wines are available all night, along with a delicious supper served from 11pm-2am.
Tickets for the ball are $175 and are on sale now via the King St Great Race Ball official website www.theball.co.nz, Ticketdirect outlets nationwide, including the WEL Energy Trust Academy of Performing Arts and the Ticketdirect free phone on 0800 48 42 538.
