New Zealand Olympic rowers took time out from a busy post Beijing schedule to let their hair down at one of the country's biggest parties of the year.
The Gallagher Great Race party - the King St Ball - took place on Saturday night in Hamilton, attracting in excess of 1,200 revellers including world champions and Olympians Mahe Drysdale, and Eric Murray, Nathan Twaddle, Nicky Coles, Juliette Haigh, Emma Twigg and Nathan Cohen.
Crews in this year's Gallagher Great Race also 'sat out' the usual early morning training session on Sunday, the morning after the hugely popular King st Great Race Ball and showing that everyone gets into the spirit of things - the entire Cambridge crew were out hunting for masks in Hamilton on Saturday.
Multiple entertainment areas, live bands, dancers and a circus theme all ensured there was something for everyone on a Great Night for the Great Race.
Crews were back in training with a vengeance on Monday with the big race itself taking place this Sunday - Fathers Day - on the Waikato.
