Maori Spirit motivates Cambridge University

Cambridge University, who race Waikato University for the Harry Mahon Memorial Trophy, have announced they will be carrying a 'teka' (Maori carving) in their boat to motivate them during the Great Race, on Saturday 2 September.

Rainbow Place Set to Benefit from the Great Race

The Arrow International Great Race Charity Fun Run & Walk is expected to raise over $10,000 for Rainbow Place. The Hospice Waikato initiative which offers free child focused family centred palliative care and bereavement services, will receive 100% of the $10 entry fees generated by the event.

Cleland back in top form

Great Race veteran Selwyn Cleland has been declared fit to race at the next world cup regatta in Europe this coming weekend. Having suffered from a finger injury after his first European world cup in June, Cleland has been in rehabilitation while staying with the rest of the NZ team in Lucerne.
